Next Tuesday (June 29) we’re playing a benefit concert at the Theatre on San Pedro Square, in downtown San Jose. We’ll be opening for roots rockers Careless Hearts. Proceeds will go to help people affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and to advocate for clean energy alternatives to oil.

We had a great time at the ArtShots screening and awards ceremony tonight. It was great to see all the films (despite some glitches), hear Amy Obenski again, play music in a theater, and meet a bunch of creative people. And Evan (who directed our video) won a prize! “Artist’s Champion,” I think, which will [...]

We’re playing tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, on Pirate Cat Radio, 87.9 FM in San Francisco. Actually I’m not sure if all of us will be there, but at least Tom, probably me, and maybe Dave. Anyway, it’s at 11:00 AM, and it sounds like if you’re in the neighborhood you can drop by the cafe [...]

It’s been almost a year since we stopped at a rest area off I-5, unloaded bags and boxes from the truck, and, after peanut butter and jelly, assembled the first copies of our CD, “The Long Way”. I always wanted to have a CD release show when we were done - well, now we’re a year done. It’s time.
I can’t believe we haven’t posted about this! Left Coast Live is next week! It’s a five-day celebration of live music in downtown San Jose. There’ll be discussion panels, a movie about the music industry, and concerts from Monday to Thursday (all free); and on Friday, a super-intense music festival from 5 PM until 2 in the morning. Click through to learn more (including where and when we’re playing, and how you can get in for free).
I just added a page of live videos to the site. My personal favorite is “She Stole My Bike”, where Tom starts singing about sea cucumbers and I just look confused. Click through for more….
Probably my favorite thing about Friday’s show at Caffe Trieste was meeting Zamilla. (I hope I’m spelling her name right.) Zamilla is a little girl who saw our poster last week and quite reasonably wanted to know, “What’s a Tin Cat?” Friday afternoon, sightseeing with her parents in San Francisco, she insisted, “We have to go back to San Jose and see Tin Cat!”…
Thanks to all the musicians, fans, and laptop jockies who were at the Red Rock last Saturday night. Things started off with a revamped 6 man lineup for The Other Jacksons, who summoned early Styx, some Queen inspired panache, and a fun groove. The Jacksons are a band to keep an eye on. Fresh from a car trip down from Portland was Cameron DePalma…

Tin Cat is planning a 3 show run: Feb 18, Wednesday at the Wine Affairs in San Jose; Feb 27, Friday at the Caffe Trieste with local gal Amy Sarver, and Feb 28, Saturday at Red Rock Coffee with The Other Jacksons and Cameron DePalma, who’s coming down from Portland Oregon. We’ll be playing a new song at Wine Affairs and taking a short break between sets. Caffe Trieste is great for something to do in downtown SJ other than club hopping, and the Red Rock has been putting on some great shows, especially since opening up the 2nd floor and providing professional sound. Please support local music.

Hey, we have a show this Friday at Caffe Trieste. The one in downtown San Jose, not the, uh, other ones. Contain Her opens the show at 8. Dave made a flyer. I like it a lot.
